When payments reach your creditors

How long ACH pulls and creditor payments take, why weekends and holidays matter, and how to track a payment.

Timing, start to finish

From the moment Lorica pulls your contribution to the moment your creditor sees the payment, the whole thing runs on ACH — which moves in business days, not instantly. Here's the shape of it.

Pulling in your contribution

An ACH pull from your linked bank takes a couple of business days to settle in your clearing account. Lorica starts this early, ahead of your creditor due dates.

Sending to your creditors

Once your contribution has settled, Lorica sends payments out. Creditor payments also travel by ACH and typically post within a few business days. Lorica works backward from your due dates so payments land on time.

Weekends and holidays

ACH doesn't move on weekends or bank holidays. Lorica accounts for this in its timing, but it's why a payment started on a Friday may not post until the following week.

Seeing where a payment is

You can check the status and date of every pull and payment in the app. If a payment looks stuck or late, start a chat and we'll check on it.
